What, where and when is OCX?

OCX (Open Community Experience) is the flagship developer conference hosted by the Eclipse Foundation. It brings together open source enthusiasts, developers and industry professionals to learn, collaborate and network on topics such as Java, IoT, embedded systems, cloud, AI, automotive and more.

OCX takes place over three days each year in Brussels, Belgium, with sessions, keynotes, workshops and networking. See the OCX homepage for the dates and venue of the next edition.

Who should attend OCX?

OCX welcomes developers, maintainers, researchers, and technology and business leaders from across the open source community. Whatever your focus, from developer tooling and AI to automotive, open source compliance or research, there is a track and a community for you.

Is OCX held in person?

Yes. OCX is an in-person conference held in Brussels, Belgium.

Is there a code of conduct?

Yes. All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers agree to the OCX Code of Conduct.

Do I need a visa to attend OCX?

All attendees are responsible for arranging their own visa. If you need an invitation letter for your visa, contact us at info@ocxconf.org and we can provide it.

Will sessions be recorded?

Yes. Sessions are recorded and published on the OCX YouTube channel after the conference.

Can I watch talks from past editions?

Yes. OCX 2024 recordings are on the Eclipse Foundation YouTube playlist. From OCX 2026 onward, recordings are published on the OCX YouTube channel after each conference.

Submission

How do I submit a talk for OCX?

Talks are submitted through the call for proposals. Visit the Call for Proposals page for the submission dates and to send your proposal.

What are the session formats and lengths?

Sessions vary in format and length. They can be regular sessions, workshops or Birds of a Feather sessions, lasting between 15 minutes and one hour depending on the type.

How do I register for OCX?

Visit the Registration page for the dates and to sign up.

Attendees who register for OCX have access to all tracks. The schedule and venue are designed to allow easy movement between tracks throughout the event.

Speakers

Do speakers pay to attend?

Speakers receive a free ticket to the conference. Once confirmed, you will receive a discount code to use when you register. Speakers cover their own travel and accommodation.
